Our installers
Carefully selected, properly accountable.
The single biggest factor in whether a solar or battery install goes well is the people doing the work. Here's how we choose — and keep — the installers in our network.
MCS accreditation
Every installer is currently MCS-certified for the technology they're quoting — solar PV, battery storage or EV charging. Required for the Smart Export Guarantee and a baseline trust signal.
Insurance & warranties
Public liability cover, product insurance, and insurance-backed workmanship warranties of at least 5 years. We verify policies annually, not just at sign-up.
Local to your property
We only match you with installers close enough to provide proper after-sales support — typically within 60 minutes of your postcode.
Quality checks
We review homeowner feedback after every job, and carry out periodic site inspections. Installers that don't meet the standard come off the network.
How vetting works
Before an installer joins the network, we check their MCS certificate, RECC or HIES membership where relevant, Companies House record, insurance policies and a sample of recent installs. We talk to past customers directly.
Once they're on the network, every homeowner we match receives a short post-install review request. Patterns of complaints — even minor ones — trigger a review. Serious issues remove an installer from the network immediately.
What you can expect
- A written quote that itemises hardware, labour, scaffolding and certification
- Clear warranty terms in writing before you sign anything
- No pressure to decide on the day of the site visit
- A real person to call if something needs attention after install
How matching works
When you complete a free home check, we match you with one suitable installer based on your postcode, property type and the technology you're considering. We don't pass your details to multiple companies — that's how homeowners end up with five sales calls in a week.
If something goes wrong
The installation contract is between you and your chosen installer, but we stay involved. If something isn't being resolved properly, get in touch via our contact page and we'll help mediate.
